Lazy minced pork topping

Picture
I call this dish lazy because it literally requires zero prep work.  No dicing, chopping, julienne or grating involved for this dish ... except maybe the garlic which in this case I even just tossed in pre-minced ones (don't judge me).  This for those days when you get home from work and you just don't wanna.  Everyone has those days.  This is the total dumb down version of the other minced pork rice.  It won't be as good as the other one but it will still hit the spot =)  I usually make this and put it on top of blanched or steamed veggies such as bok choy.  Rice, veggies, meat - Check and Done.

Ingredients:

0.5 lbs of ground pork
2 Tbsp of fried shallots
2 Tbsp of soy sauce
1 Tbsp of soy sauce paste
3 Tbsp of rice wine
1 Tbsp of brown sugar
1 tsp of garlic
1/8 five spice powder
1 cup of water

Heat a small pot without any oil and once it is heated add the ground pork.  The ground pork itself already has a lot of fat added on with the fried shallots that we will be adding later.  Break up the ground pork with a chopstick or spatula and continue to cook until you don't see any more pink.  Add the rest of the ingredients in and bring to a boil.  Once it boils turn the heat down to a simmer and close the lid.

Check occasionally and stir to make sure nothing is sticking on the bottom.  When the liquid is 90% reduced you are ready to serve.

You may blanch some veggies while the pork is simmering and have that ready for the meat topping.
